CVDGO Board of Directors meeting minutes 12-19-04
In attendance Jim Govier, Don Ticknor, Bob Gappa, and Jack Michelson
6:55 PM Meeting called to order by president Jim Govier
Secretary's minutes from BOD meeting of 11-4-04 were accepted.
No minutes were available for the special meeting held 11-07-04 at Tower Ridge, but there was a verbal review of what had transpired. The actual Minutes will be emailed to all Board Directors.
The secretary also reported on the final version of the agreement with the county.
Jack presented a sample of a rubber tee mat, and the letter which accompanied it. The directors expressed a desire to check for a similar product made locally. We have heard of a business at Banbury Place which makes similar mats.
Jack also reported of the availability of tapes by Disc Golf Live and that it would cost $130 to put a show on community access TV for a year. Jack pointed out that messages could be scrolled across the bottom of the screen during shows. It is believed that we could also produce our own video to be played.
Motion by Don, Second by Bob: "That the CVDGO become a major sponsor of this project by supplying $30, and that we solicit additional donations of $10 by individuals, or $20 by businesses." -- Passed by voice vote
Bob reported that the Bob Brozman concert project he had been working on had been cancelled by the artist.
Jim raised the issue of the website utilization. Suggestions of additional utilization had been made.
Motion by Don, Second by Jack: "That we post on the website for access by CVDGO members: Meeting minutes, and the agreement with the county. And that we post for access by anyone, our Bylaws. -- Passed by voice vote
The other website issue is that of access to build and manage the website by someone besides Larry. If something should happen to Larry's ability to manage the website, rebuilding it would be, at best, an unwelcome chore. Due to Larry's absence this issue was tabled and is to be picked up at the next meeting when Larry is present.
Jim also proposed a new position in the CVDGO doing "advertising". Some potential responsibilities would be getting notices of events out via flyers, and press releases. This person would likely be a primary contact person for those running events at other courses, and for media outlets. It was felt that we need to develop a "job description" and look for someone to fill this position. We will resume this subject at the next meeting. Meanwhile we will check the bylaws.
Besides the Website issue, and the advertising position, we will work to develop an operations calendar for CVDGO activities for the next meeting.
