CVDGO Board of Directors meeting minutes 03-13-05
In attendance Jim Govier, Don Ticknor, Jeff Stumm, Chad Winrich, Bob Gappa, and Larry Ader
6:15 PM Meeting called to order by president Jim Govier
Secretary's minutes from BOD meeting of 12-19-04 were accepted.
The calendar project has seen no progress, and all were reminded to submit their information for the calendar.
Larry Ader presented the treasurer's report.
Jim Govier presented information about the grant proposal which is going in to the Eau Claire Area Foundation. All agreed it was an important opportunity. Jim assured all that the application would get in. The application must go through the county parks and forestry department because all applicants must have 501 3(c) status. The application will be closely patterned after the grant application which went in to the state through the county last summer.
Since Jack Mickelson was not available, dicussion about the disc golf TV project was tabled until Jack could present it.
Jeff Stumm gave a newsletter report. The newsletter is mostly ready, but he is waiting for meeting minutes and a Tower Ridge Open report. Don said he would make sure he got those this week. Others could still submit articles this week. The newsletter is scheduled to be out about a week before April 1 so that members have notification of the April 2 work day.
Chad presented a revised membership application form. There was a question of what Play It Again Sports was offering CVDGO members, and that will be checked out.
The Tower Ridge Open was a major topic of discussion. It will be April 16-17, just over a month away. Jeff offered to explore some options for a food supplier. Don will check with the scout office to see if there might be a scout troop interested in being the food provider. Don appealed to all to help find sponsorship for the event. He pointed out that to maintain B tier status, we must provide substantial additional cash beyond the entry fees. He will email the sponsorship benefits information to all those present, and to anyone who requests the information. Don will order Tower Ridge stamped discs from Innova and Discraft for the tournament later this week.
Don raised the question of locks for the goals at Tower Ridge saying he had located a possible source for inexpensive padlocks. Jim made a motion that Don go ahead and purchase 48 keyed alike locks if possible to get them for less than $125. Chad seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
Jim stated that the next meeting would be a work day at Tower Ridge on April 2. At that time we are to meet with tools to install the baskets, groom tees, and move woodchips as necessary.
